New Etsy Listing

Here's a new necklace that I made last weekend.

The colors are great for Fall.

It's in my Etsy shop and ready to go home with someone.

It felt good to be back at my bead table for the first time in months!

Art Journal Round Robin Update: Round 3

I'm finally back and able to post something new. The last 3 1/2 weeks have been difficult to say the least. My kids have been sick for weeks now and are now on high doses of antibiotics to try and get them well. Week before last I lost my job and I'm now looking for a day job. Anyhoo, it's been rough, but I know that God is on our sides and we will make it through these tough days.

So, on to some good news. Here is Carin's journal that I received 2 weeks ago as a part of our art journal round robin. Carin made a wonderful handmade journal covered with beautiful batik fabrics (my favorite!). She chose the theme of "Spring" for her journal. I'm not so good with themes, but I decided to push through and make something colorful and pretty. The top photo is my contribution. The last 2 photos are of the cover and Carin's pages.

I hope everyone has a fabulous rest of the week! I'm going to do some job hunting while the kids are in school this morning and hopefully sneak in a little creative time as well. I'm also still working on my pear quilt and hope to finish it soon as well as making some new jewelry for my Etsy shop. I haven't made jewelry in months and have been itching to get back to my beads. U.F.P. Update: The Pear Quilt

My pear quilt is almost finished. I neglected to show you the state it was in in the first post. I had cut out everything but had not pieced any of it yet. This technique is called Stitch & Split applique. I layered the pears of each block/color, sewed them on, then rotary cut the blocks in half and reassembled them with their companion block. I'm headed to Joann's Fabric tomorrow, 40% off in hand of course, to get some fabric for the backing so that I can quilt and bind it. I'll have it done soon and show you the finished product.

U.F.P. Update! Coming Soon!

I've been very sick and so have the kids for the past week or so. I have been able to sneek in some time to sew and have started working on 3 UFP's. I will get some pics later today and will share them tonight or tomorrow!
