Okay, so you'd think with as large of a bead stash as I have that I could sit down to my work table and come up with just about anything, right? Well, let's just say that's not the case. At least not this weekend, which is not good timing considering I have a small show to do next Saturday. I've been racking (did I spell that right?) my brain all weekend just to make some earrings. Which, by the way, I need plenty of for the show, because the small 10-15$ items are always a draw for folks. Especially in this stagnant economy.I can't seem to come up with a thing that someone else hasn't already done! So, what do you do? I guess I'll end up perusing through all my magazines later and try a new twist on some old favorite, who knows. Leave me a comment and let me know what you do when that "creative block" hits...

And I thought I had a lot of beads!
Brain freeze...me too. All the time. I normally just try to do something that seems popular lately and put my own spin on it somehow.
Magazines are a good place to start.
I clean my table, and organize any beads that are left out on the bead trays. Then I look in all of my bead trays (it would take a week to look in all of yours) and sometimes re-gourp them according to color, material, etc. By then, I'm starting to see things that would "go" together, and I start grouping two or three colro families into projects.
Many times I buy pairs of beads that would look good as earrings. I'll throw them together with beads that will look good, and they'll "sleep" in those annoying littel ziploc bags until I get some inspiration (or time). That's when I pull those out, and do a couple pair earrings! That's a warm-up. If I haven't had the kids pull me off inanother direction, or my 2 year old maing "choo-choo" tracks out of my bead tray, then perhaps I'll get something done.
I find that little projects "on deck" are good to make the creative juices flow. Sure-things that you stash until you need it.
Or go to the bead store and buy a scary amount of beads. THEN you'l get inspired REALLY FAST!!
